German bedroom manufacturer, Wiemann, is delighted to be a winner in the Big Furniture Awards as voted by readers.
The family-run business, which has long been a favourite in the UK and Irish market, scooped Outstanding Supplier Product for its market-leading Monaco system bedroom furniture.
The secret to Monaco’s success is in its versatility. It truly offers something for everyone, regardless of size or style of room or home and it is this which the Wiemann team believes has appealed to voters.

Its new-for-2026 VIP ranges Ambiero and Macao have both been popular at this spring’s trade shows.
Simon Hewitt, md of Wiemann’s sole agents for the UK and Ireland, Litmus Furniture, said: “We had buyers take one look at Ambiero and say: ‘I want that in my shop.’ It’s a striking and chic product featuring hinged and hinged-combi doors with a unique horizontal textured glass dimple-effect panel. “Wiemann’s designers working on Macao have added clever lighting features which are both practical and beautiful. With sliding doors, Macao comes in a variety of finishes, including glass and mirror, plus horizontal and vertical lighting options.
“Both Ambiero and Macao have taken inspiration from Monaco, creating lots of different looks in one range.”
Wiemann also enjoys a reputation for exemplary customer service and Home Delivery and Installation (HDI).

This commitment to customer service is another reason for Wiemann’s longevity and excellent reputation. The company recently celebrated its 125th birthday. It has come a long way from its humble beginnings when 23-year-old Mathias Wiemann set up shop as a carpenter/furniture maker in the 15 sq m basement of an inn in Oesede, North West Germany.
Mathias made a variety of bespoke furniture and eventually passed the business on to his son. It continued through the generations to owner Markus Wiemann today, who is Mathias’s great grandson.
Wiemann has a long history of investment and upgrading production facilities, all the time focused on productivity, quality and, increasingly, sustainability. Today it is a modern, successful business operating from a 48,000 sq m site producing attractive, practical, high-quality products.
In 2003 Wiemann joined forces with Litmus Furniture, its sole agent for the UK and Ireland and this is now the company’s biggest export market.
