Commenting on the results, BDO said: “Total like-for-like (LFL) sales remain resilient and increased by +3.18% this week, marking eight weeks of consecutive growth, compared to a positive base of +4.23% for the same week last year.

“However, the growth in total like-for-like (LFL) sales this week was once again largely driven by Homewares sales.

“This week saw cooler, wetter conditions in Scotland and parts of Northern Ireland and north-east England, while southern and eastern England were generally drier with temperatures in the low-to-mid 20s.”

Springboard data showed overall footfall increased by +2.1% this week, driven by retail parks footfall which increased by +4.1%, followed by shopping centre footfall (+2.7%), and high street footfall (+0.8%).
