Furniture imports during June 2026 increased on the same month last year while exports from the UK also rose.
According to the latest UK trade data, analysed by Big Furniture Group, total imports of furniture into Britain valued £746.9m in June 2026, up 7.8% from £692.9m against the same month the previous year.
Imports from the EU registered an uptick of 1.4% to £323.2m from £318.5m. Imports from Italy were up 0.2% to £69.3m, while Polish imports rose 1.6% to £57.6m. Imports from Germany were up 23% to £58.2m, while imports from France rose 5% to £26.5m.
As for outside the EU, total imports were up 13.1% to a value of £423.6m from £374.3m. Chinese imports were up 11% to £296.4m, while Vietnam rose by 22% to £24.5m. Imports from USA rose 36% to £22.8m.
Moving to exports, the total value of UK furniture leaving the country rose 13.4% to £222.9m from £196.5m year-on-year. In Europe, exports increased by 16% to £98m from £84.5m. Exports to France decreased 10% to £22.9m, while Irish exports were up 9% to £19.8m. Exports to Germany rose 113% to £20.2m, while to Italy, exports were up 18% to £3.9m.
Outside the EU saw exports increase 11.4% to £124.8m from £111.9m. Exports to China were up 2.8% to £5.6m, while Hong Kong rose 411% to £6.9m. Exports to Saudi Arabia rose 229% to £4.4m, while the USA increased 27% to £65.1m.
