The UK retail division of Swedish bed manufacturer Hästens has reported a growth in sales as well as a return to profit.
According to its latest filed accounts for the year ended 31 December 2025, total sales rose 23.2% to £6.9m from £5.6m in 2024.
Pre-tax profit during the period resulted at £628,000, significantly improving from a loss of £1.3m.
Stated within its report, Hästens stated: “As part of the company’s strategic direction, the management of retail operations of Hästens Beds UK was transitioned to UK Retail Business Management effective 5 April 2025, who are overseeing the employees and day-to-day activities of the four retail stores.
“This arrangement was structured under a commission-based agreement, whereby UK Retail Business Management Limited receives an agreed-upon percentage of revenue, which has been reflected in the gross profit margin for the year.
“This decision taken was aimed at improving operational efficiency while allowing the company to focus on broader financial and strategic objectives.”
